Locke Township (Township of Locke)
Locke Township is one of sixteen townships in Elkhart County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,913.
Locke Township was organized in the 1840s. It was named for Samuel Lockwood, a pioneer settler and native of Vermont.

Indigenous peoples have inhabited the Americas for thousands of years. Beginning in 1607, British colonization led to the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies in what is now the Eastern United States. With the Union's victory and preservation, slavery was abolished nationally by the Thirteenth Amendment.
